Oasy Contemporary Art

On the Pistoia Apennines, inside the splendid Oasi Dynamo, OCA Oasy Contemporary Art is born, a place that already contains, in the name, its two souls: that of a naturalistic oasis and that of a space for contemporary art.

OCA, where art talks to nature

Oasi Dynamo is a WWF-affiliated nature reserve located in the heart of Tuscany, in the municipality of San Marcello Piteglio. Over 1000 hectares overlooking the Pistoia Apennines, where rare plants and wild animals find the ideal place to grow and live in complete freedom, safe and protected. In addition to the area’s environmental recovery and conservation activities, over the years Oasi Dynamo has also opened up to hospitality, eco-tourism, and the dissemination of a sustainable environmental culture. And today, with OCA Oasy Contemporary Art, art also arrives at high altitude, with a project entrusted to the artistic direction of Emanuele Montibeller.

At OCA, art integrates with nature, with the place that hosts it, and awaits the visitor at the end of his journey, to offer him a new world, to be discovered and created together. This year, the Swedish artist David Svensson and the photographer Massimo Vitali have been invited to inaugurate the project, with two works designed especially for OCA and for the idea that the place wants to bring with it. The idea that protecting nature does not mean prohibiting its enjoyment, but living it according to the culture of respect and knowledge.

Massimo Vitali’s exhibition and David Svensson’s installation open on 5 August 2023 and will remain open until 5 November 2023.
